Dit komt omdat er in hete periodes veel zoet water verdampt waardoor zeewater en brak grondwater de kans krijgen omhoog te stromen in de bodem en het oppervlaktewater. Dit gebeurt vooral in laaggelegen gebieden, waar de kans groot is dat er brakwater in de grond komt.<\/p>\n<p>Nederland kampt al langere tijd met verzilting, maar door klimaatverandering wordt dit proces versneld. Wetenschappelijke publicaties voorspellen een stijging van de zeespiegel, dit zal ook in ons land het landoppervlak vergroten dat door verzilting wordt getroffen.<\/p>\n<p>Boeren zullen hier veel van gaan merken, en de landbouwproductiviteit van Nederland zal negatief be\u00efnvloed worden. Boeren in gebieden als de Haarlemmermeerpolder hebben hier reeds mee te kampen, hun inkomen is 30 tot 60 procent gedaald in 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Salt Farm Foundation heeft samen met Saline-Farming een methode ontwikkeld om de effecten van verzilting tegen te gaan. Salt Farm Foundation blijft spant zich in om boeren in Nederland te helpen om verzilting het hoofd te bieden.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t<a href=\"https:\/\/saltfarmfoundation.com\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Bodemvruchtbaarheid.jpg\" target=\"_self\" itemprop=\"url\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">\n\t\t\t\t<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/saltfarmfoundation.com\/nl\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/4\/2019\/03\/Bodemvruchtbaarheid.jpg\" alt=\"Bodemvruchtbaarheid onderzoek\" itemprop=\"image\" height=\"528\" width=\"810\" title=\"Bodemvruchtbaarheid\" onerror=\"this.style.display='none'\"  \/>\n\t\t\t\t<\/a>\n\t<p>In de toekomst gaat de Salt Farm Foundation ook aan de slag met de verziltingsproblematiek op zand- en klei gronden.<\/p>\n\t<p>In de komend tijd werken wij aan een nieuw onderzoeksthema met onze partner \u2013 Louis Bolk Instituut. Lange termijn bodemvruchtbaarheid onder zilte condities.<\/p>\n<p>Ondanks de successen \u2013 met wereldwijde aandacht &#8211; staat zilte landbouw nog in de kinderschoenen. Er staan nog fundamentele vragen open, bijvoorbeeld: \u201choe ontwikkelt een bodem zich onder permanente zilte condities op de langere termijn?\u201d. Dit inzicht is nodig om de juiste controlemaatregelen te kunnen ontwikkelen en van voorwaardelijk belang voor een bijdrage aan de landbouw die steeds meer met tijdelijke (zoals de droge zomer 2018) of permanente verzilting te maken krijgt. Dit speelt nadrukkelijk in het waddengebied maar ook wereldwijd.<\/p>\n<p>Texel beschikt inmiddels over een technologisch hoogwaardige infrastructuur en een netwerk van relevante kennis(partners) om dit zilte onderzoek te doen.
